Wing Construction
 

The assembly of the new wings started September 1, 2005. Check out the new  design on joining the center section.
 



Port and Starboard outboard wings are assembled.

Fillers between the upper spar and the tube
are glued in place first.  Less hassle.



Note:  The center wing joint was re-designed in 2007 after finding stress breaks in the joint.

Here is the joint for the wings to go together.  Two pieces of lite-ply sandwich the web spar,
then bottom and top are capped with 3/8" spruce.

Here is the starboard inboard and outboard
wing assemblies with the phenolic tubes and
support pipes in place

The gap in the leading edge will be filled with
material to make a very solid tight fit.
